Grant Applewhite was the lucky recipient of an Altamont Anglers Gift Certificate, purchased from us by his lovely wife, Cathy way back on June 14, 2005. They finally made it up to the mountains near Asheville, NC to redeem their day onstream on October 15, the peak of the fall Leaf Season. The throngs of tourists in town for the fall color had Asheville's hotels and B & B's booked up, so the Applewhite's ended up staying in Maggie Valley, where our guide Teo met them. Teo took them over to the West Fork of the Pigeon River, onto the Delayed Harvest water, where they found trout in abundance (despite the obvious depletion of the trout population by recent poachers, we're sad to say...).

Here's Grant with a fat Brook Trout on the West Fork Pigeon River (click it to enlarge the image)...

And here's Cathy with an impressive Rainbow Trout (click to enlarge)...
