Julia Bowen with a pretty South Holston River rainbow trout caught on May 18, 2012 (click image for full view)
Ray and Julia Bowen enjoyed a nice day on the South Holston River on May 18, 2012. Altamont Anglers guide Teo Whitlock put them onto a good number of fish, from the boat and while wading, taking advantage of good Spring hatches.
The main event right now is the cicada hatch, noisy and abundant, but most of the catching is still being done Sulphur patterns, BWO's on cloudy days and the ever-present midges.
