A Watauga River trout
Jeremy Bray with a Watauga River rainbow on October 24, 2009 (click the image to enlarge).

In the category of Fathers & Sons we add a trip booked by Jeremy Bray for a float with his son John, guided by Altamont Anglers' guide Teo Whitlock, down the Watauga River. In the category of not believing everything you read, the TVA abandoned their predicted stream flows for October 24 and "spilled" all day. Normally, that heavy water makes life tough for fly fishers, and last Saturday was no exception, with most of the boats on the water netting few fish. Teo and Team Bray persisted, however, and were rewarded for their skills and efforts with an estimated 35 fish in the boat!.

Jeremy sent his thoughts on the experience, which we'll share here:

"My son and I had a blast fishing with Teo. He was very knowledgeable and put us on some nice trout right away. He was also very patient with our inevitable line tangles and gave us some great casting tips. Please let him know how much we enjoyed our trip!"

Thanks, Jeremy: Teo assures us the pleasure was all his.
