One thing we like here at Altamont Anglers is happy customers, especially customers who are happy enough after fishing with us that they come back for more! That's exactly what Eric Forehand did: after first fishing with us back in October of 2006, he gave us a call just after the New Year wondering if we might have any openings for the first Weekend in January to take him and his wife, Lisa, for some winter fly fishing. We did, they came, we all fished. The pictures of Eric and Lisa's respective catches seem to bear out a trend we've noticed, of wives outfishing their spouses: we're not sure if they're better anglers, or maybe just get more attention from the guides. Whatever, the pictures below indicate that a mid-January excursion to a trout stream can be a rewarding experience.
Here's Lisa Forehand on the Davidson River on January 7, 2007 holding a huge brown trout just netted by her guide, Teo Whitlock (click the image for a larger view)...
Here's an interesting underwater shot of that brown trout swimming off after the release (click to enlarge)...
Here's Eric with a nice Davidson River brownie (click to enlarge--the picture, not the trout!)...

Below are our notes from Eric's earlier trip, in October, 2006:
Eric Forehand booked a half-day of guided fly fishing with Altamont Anglers for October 11, 2006 which is a great time of the year to take advantage of the newly re-stocked Delayed Harvest streams. AA guide Teo Whitlock took Eric over to the North Mills River, near Asheville, NC, and Eric had this to say about the trip: "... I wanted to tell you how great a time I had fishing with Teo last week. He definitely knew his stuff and was a very patient teacher. I never expected to catch as many and as big a fish as I did with his help."
Here's proof of Eric's comments in the form of a chunky rainbow from the North Mills River, 10/11/2006 (click the image to enlarge it)...
