Diana Gambrell called the Altamont Anglers office in Asheville, NC on Friday, March 3, 2006 to see if we could arrange a fly fishing lesson for her and her husband Shaun for the next day. Such short notice can be a problem later in the season, but early March is easier for us to scramble up a guide and we hooked them up with Teo Whitlock for a half-day's guided fly fishing for the next day.

As is so often the case when a couple goes fishing, the wife proves to be the better (or luckier) angler! Here's Diana with what proved to be the lunker of the day, a hefty rainbow trout (click the picture to enlarge it)...

They fished the West Fork Pigeon River, and the fact that neither had ever fly fished before didn't stop them from starting off the day with remarkable success: here they are with "double" right off the bat, followed by a shot of Diana holding a nice brook trout (click them to enlarge)...
