Altamont Anglers guide Teo Whitlock was commissioned for a three-day course in fly fishing by Fred Hartnett, a gift for his wife Beth. They spent the days in hot pursuit of knowledge and trout on the Davidson River, near Asheville, NC and upon their return to their home of Norfolk, VA, we got a nice email from Fred:
"Sorry it took an extra week for us to e-mail you but we wanted to let you know what a wonderful time my wife, Beth, and I had fly fishing with Teo as our guide/instructor. My wife has wanted to try fly fishing for 30 years, so this was my present for our 30th Anniversary and on the exact date, August 6, we headed out to the Davidson River with Teo and had ourselves a blast. We each caught more than a dozen trout the first day, fewer but larger the next day (see Teo's photo of Beth with her 23-inch rainbow trout) and a relaxing 3rd day of catch and release. The trip was everything we had hoped for and more. Thanks for a wonderful adventure."
The following photos (click the images to enlarge them) prove Fred's point: Beth couldn't seem happier with that big rainbow...

Fred learned his lessons well, judging by the size of that brown trout (click to enlarge the image)...
