It's become a recurring theme here at Altamont Anglers: the highest praise a guide can get from a client is a return trip. Usually, the return is sometiime in the future, like next season. So it must be even more rewarding for a guide to hear his client say "let's do this again tomorrow"!

That's just what Jim Grubbs said to his guide, Teo Whitlock, after a day floating the Watauga River on April 27, 2009. A quick check with the 'office' on the next day's schedule, and the date was cleared for the return trip. Fortunately for Jim and Teo, this afforded an opportunity to include a working camera, something missing from the April 27 date. Judging by the photo of Jim to your left, and those that follow, that camera may have come in handy on the first day, too.

Jim, who was on the road in his RV enjoying the freedom from time and space that only comes with a successful retirement, had his own thoughts about his 2 days fishing with the Altamont Anglers. He was kind enough to share those thoughts with us, and we're passing them on to you, here:
"I am 73 years and have fished in a lot of places in the last many years. This two days with Teo was one of my greatest fishing experiences. He is, for such a young man, the ultimate professional. If I were a wealthy man I would book him for the entire Summer. I hope I can return with my sons in the future for a multiple day trip. Best Regards, Jim Grubbs , Scottsdale, Az."

Well, it was our pleasure, and we hope Jim and his sons make back for a family fish-a-thon sometime soon!
