Vee Khamphilavong has sent us an update since his trip with Altamont Anglers back in June--and judging by the picture on the left, it's a heck of an update. Here's what Vee had to say:
I just wanted to send a note to thank you and Teo for the great smallie fishing on the Pigeon River back in June. We have a similar river up here in Ontario which I like to float with my pontoon boat and have tried some of the techniques I learned from Teo. Here's a picture of a smallie I caught last week I want to share (from a lake on my kayak). I didn't get a measurement or weigh but it was a monster. I'll be back down next July for more fishing.
Check the posting below for a re-cap of his fishing with Altamont Anglers in June, 2011:

Vee Khamphilavong came a long way from his home in Ontario, Canada to have the best day of smallmouth bass fishing in his life (his words, not ours). Altamont Anglers guide Teo Whitlock put Vee in all the right spots for success with the flyrod, and Vee did the rest. We're having some fine smallmouth fishing this June, when we're get an opening between thunderstorms, whether we're fly-rodding for them or using our sneaky spinning and baitcasting rods.
