Larry Owens occasionally escapes the halls of academe and his duties and Medical University of South Carolina, in Charleston, for some recreation at higher altitudes. Those heights are the mountains around our neighborhood of Asheville, NC and the recreation he's recently embraced is tempting trout with flies. He booked a half-day with Altamont Anglers' guide Teo Whitlock on his most recent escape from the low-country and they met up on the Davidson River on October 19 for some fall fishing.
