David Mouser, author, publisher, world traveling fly fisher and CEO of Fly Fishing North America has fished for salmon, steelhead and trout all over the world, but he keeps coming back to North Carolina. Altamont Anglers' Drake Whitlock has accompanied David on some of these excursions but is always happy to demonstrate that while the "grass is always greener" on the other side of the hill, the trout fishing right here at home is as good as it gets.

David's recent trip to Asheville provided an opportunity for the two old friends to share some stream-time, so off to the Davidson River they went. A welcome (and desparately needed) rainy spell set the stage for the picture here, of David and a typical brute of a Davidson River brown (click the picture to enlarge)...
