Alan Mullinix hoists a hefty Davidson River rainbow trout on Thursday, April 30, 2009 (click image for larger view).
Alan Mullinix fishes with AA guide Teo Whitlock at least once a year, and has been doing so for years. His Spring outing last week was a turn on the Davidson River, and in spite of the competition with other anglers for a place to wade, Alan managed to educate his share of the trout. The one on the left learned his lesson from perfesser Alan and got his graduation picture before being released.
Alan has recently had multiple knee surgeries, which has made wading the freestone bottom of a trout stream a challenge. He sent us an email after the fishing, with permission to post it here:
"Had a great day of fishing, great weather, scenic river and most of all a patient guide. Fish were a little tougher to catch on this day as there were a lot of other fishermen, but that made it even more fun. Looking forward to next time. Tell Teo thanks and I appreciate the shoulder to lean on--he will know what I mean. Thanks, Alan."
All guides will confirm that their job-description can include knot-tier, knot-untier, fish spotter, casting coach and many other duties, including human wading staff. We appreciate that Alan Mullinix is the sort of client who appreciates that fact.
