When Altamont Anglers fly fishing guides can get a photo or two of their clients' successful efforts, we like to post them here, making it easier for our clients to share the experience with friends and family. We like to say a few words about the trip, but really prefer letting our clients tell the story...

Gretchen Porten with brookie caught on the West Fork, Pigeon River (click image to enlarge)
Joe and Gretchen Porten booked a half-day for Thursday, April 16 2009 specifically asking for it to be a "teaching" day of fishing. Altamont Anglers' guide Teo Whitlock took the Portens over to the West Fork, Pigeon River, and donned his 'perfesser' cap for the day's lessons. It looks like the Portens went straight to the head of the class, judging by the pictures.
Joe sent us this email, putting it in his own words:
"Drake - My compliments to Altamount Anglers ! We recently visited the Asheville area and booked a trip for my wife and I to do some trout fishing in the mountain streams. Teo was chosen as our guide and I can't begin to express my appreciation for him in his patientce with our awkwardness and his willingness to share the secrets of his tremendous knowledge in what it takes to be a sucessful angler in the regional streams. Our trip with Altamount Anglers far exceeded both my wifes and my expectations in what we encountered that morning. Congrats to both yourself and Teo on the organization you bestowed to us. Respectively, Joe and Gretchen Porten - Sturgeon Bay, WI"
