John and Celia Rice had fished the Davidson River on their own recently and, like many newcomers to the Davidson, they realized that there was more to the river than "meets the eye". Learning the secrets of the river (and its trout) on their own could require an investment in time and travel from their Durham home that just wasn't in their schedule, so they did the smart thing: they called Altamont Anglers and hired a guide for a day of unlocking the secrets of the Davidson River. That guide turned out to be AA guide Travis Honeycutt, and judging by some of the pictures Travis took, John and Celia must have learned a secret or two.
