We've been lucky enough to form bonds with some of our clients that transcend the normal guide/client business relationship, becoming true friendships. Over the many years that Tom Baynes has been commuting from his home in Lake Wales, Florida to fish the trout streams of North Carolina such a friendship has evolved, so we were glad to have him for an extended four-day fish-a-thon the first week in October of this year. Altamont Anglers' Teo Whitlock guided his father, Drake, and Tom for two days of floating the South Holston River and then took them into the back-country for a day of stalking wild brookies. Drake finished out the fourth day by taking Tom into some of the less-crowded water on the Davidson River (yes, there is less crowded water on the Davidson).
