ltamont Anglers guides Teo Whitlock, Travis Honeycutt and Forrest Marshall teamed up for a 3-day fly fishing extravaganza organized by AA client Paul Tootleman. Paul and his team, fellow anglers Steve Paradise, Bob Pinder, George Kessler and Harold Howard Pecker descended on Asheville, NC from their homes in NY, NJ and NC with a plan: fish, fish, and more fish! Team Altamont Anglers worked with Team Tootleman to arrange putting 2 boats in the water each of the 3 days for 4 of the anglers, while Team Tootleman would take turns as the "fifth" man on a walk/wade trip with the 3rd guide. George drew the walk/wade card on day one, and Forrest Marshall took him over to the South Holston River for some lessons in technical trout stalking. Apparently, George learned well, as the photos below attest (click the images for larger views of a monster South Holston brown trout):

Meanwhile, abord the boats manned by Team AA on the Watauga River, more fine fishing was being had by Team Tootleman. Bob Pinder certainly got into 'em, and clicking the images below will show larger views of a variety of browns and rainbows that succombed to Bob's angling skills...

AA guide Teo Whitlock spent his rotation on the walk/wade duty with Harold Howard, taking him over to the South Holston River where they got into some fine fish, like this fine brown trout (click the image for a larger view of Harold's Howards catch)...
George drew two days walking & wading with a guide of his own, due to his need to leave a little earlier than the rest of Team Tootleman, which also forced a trip to the Davidson River. AA guide Travis Honeycutt was due for walk/wade duty that final day, and worked his fishy magic for George with the Davidson River PhD trout. Click the images below for larger views of yet another brown trout vanquished (and then released) by George...

Steve Paradise sent us some nice pictures from the trip, just to give us an idea of how the fishing fared for those who only floated. Apparently, the lack of a personal guide to walk & wade with didn't deter he and Paul from harrassing their fair share of the trout. Click the pictures below for larger views of the action aboard Team Tootleman Boat #3...
