Ken Peterson has been fishing for smallmouth bass with Altamont Anglers on a regular basis for several years, and we were happy to take him and his friend Jimmy Willingham down the Pigeon River on Monday, May 24. While Ken is usually sharing our boat with the impeccably attired Tom Martin, we appreciate him introducing us to new fishermen, especially those as appreciative of the whole experience as Jimmy was.
We know he enjoyed the totality of the day--not just the fishing--partly because Altamont Anglers guide Teo Whitlock told us so, and partly because of all the "scenic" photos he took. We typically only see pictures of fishermen and their fish (the anglers' version of the "grip & grin"), so it's nice to be able to share some of Jimmy's photos of the scenery we encounter on a float trip.

Jimmy wasn't the only guy in the boat with a hot hand for the smallies on Monday, May 24 2010! That hog held by Ken, just like that one above held by Jimmy, goes around four pounds--which makes the name "smallies" somewhat oxymoronic.
There's more of some previous trips with Ken and Altamont Anglers here and here, and you can click the thumbnail images that follow for larger views of the fishing enjoyed by Jimmy and Ken on the Pigeon River, 5/24/10...
